As sextas-feiras aqui no blog têm um brilho diferente! É dia de destino de sonho: o dia da semana em que sonhamos além fronteiras. Pois bem, hoje decidi trazer-vos um país pelo qual me apaixonei há pouco tempo: o México.

O México é um dos maiores países da América do Sul, com mais de 113 milhões de habitantes! Sim, o que não falta é pessoal e é o 11º país mais populoso do mundo inteiro. Quando penso no México, penso nas praias maravilhosas e num dos monumentos mais conhecidos: Chichen Itza, que faz parte de uma área arqueológica do país. Para além disso, tem paisagens maravilhosas, até mesmo nas partes mais citadinas, como a capital. E não nos podemos esquecer que no México fala-se espanhol, e as pessoas são naturalmente calientes e com muito sangue na guelra! Com tudo isto, ainda têm uma maravilhosa gastronomia, com os típicos guacamole, nachos e tacos! Podem ver mais aqui. 

Mas bom, o que fazer no México? Existem muitas opções! O México é muito visitado pelas suas praias e três dos locais mais populares são a Playa del Carmen, Cancun e San Miguel de Allende. Se forem à procura de alguma cultura, visitem Mérida, a Cidade do México que tem imensos monumentos para ver, e também Guadalajara! O que quer que seja que visitem, de certeza que irão a-do-rar! 

Ah, e não se esqueçam de comprar um típico chapéu mexicano, ou sombrero, e um poncho a condizer! ;)

Here on the blog, fridays have a different sparkle! It is dream destination's day: the day of the week where we dream beyond borders. Well, today I decided to introduce you to a country I fell in love quite recently: Mexico.
Mexico is one of the largest countries in South America, with more than 113 million people! Yeah, it is a lot and it's the 11th country with the largest population in the entire world.
When I think of Mexico, I think about the wonderful beaches and one of the most famous monuments: Chichen Itza, which is part of an archaeological area in the country. Besides that, it has amazing landscapes, even in the urban areas, like the capital. Obviously, we can't forget that in Mexico they speak Spanish, and the people are naturally more "caliente"! Likewise, they still have a gastronomy to die for, with the typical guacamole, nachos and tacos! You can see more of it here.
However, what would you do in Mexico? There are a lot of options! Mexico is famous for its beaches and three of the most popular places are Playa del Carmen, Cancun and San Miguel de Allende. If you're looking for a more cultural trip, visit Merida, Mexico City, where there are a lot of monuments to see, and also Guadalajara! Whatever you visit, I'm sure you will love it!
Oh, and don't forget to buy the typical Mexican hat, the sombrero, and a poncho matching! ;)

CRUZEIRO | Cruises

Os sonhos não têm limites, e por isso as viagens de sonho não podem restringir-se aos 5 continentes. Esta semana resolvi falar-vos de uma viagem de sonho que não se limita a um destino e não precisa de aviões. Alguém adivinha? Sim, vamos fazer um cruzeiro!
É das minhas viagens de sonho porque me dá total liberdade para escolher as minhas rotas preferidas e visitar várias cidades na mesma viagem. No entanto, alguns podem ser um pouco pesados para os nossos bolsos, mas a realidade é que compensa e geralmente ficamos com tudo incluído. Os cruzeiros tem diversos atrativos, desde casinos, bares, restaurantes, piscinas, spas e espetáculos temáticos que variam todos os dias de forma a entreter os passageiros que acabam por passar muitas horas em alto mar. Sem mencionar aqueles que ainda proporcionam atividades como escalada, patinagem no gelo e surf… pois é!
O meu cruzeiro de sonho, em sequência do que tenho revelado sobre os meus destinos de sonho, tem de ser claramente um no mediterrâneo que passe por Roma, Atenas, Mykonos e Santorini, mas podem escolher outros como o do sudeste asiático, Oceânia, Caribe, ou Mar Báltico. Há para todos os gostos!

There are no limits for our dreams, that is why our dream destination cannot be restricted to five continents. This week I wanna tell you about a dream trip that isn't limited to one country only and you also don't need airplanes. Can you guess it? Yes, let's go on a cruise!
This is one of my favourite kind of travelling because it gives me a total freedom to choose my own routes and visit more than one city. However, some of them could be a lot expensive, but the truth is that it's worth the money, and sometimes it includes all the extra costs. 
The cruises have a lot of attractions like casinos, bars, restaurants, pools, spas and a different show every day to entertain the passengers, since they spend a lot of time in the middle of the ocean/sea. We can also mention those who give you activities like escalate, ice skating and surf… Yeah!
My dream cruise, following what I revealed about my dream trips before, has to be clearly one in the Mediterranean that goes to Rome, Athens, Mykonos and Santorini, but you can also choose one like in the asian southeast, Oceania, Caribe or Baltic Sea. There is one for everyone!

BORA BORA

Depois de alguns dias de hibernação (dado aos exames da faculdade) estamos de volta com mais um destino de sonho! O desta sexta-feira é Bora Bora! Quem não conhece? Fica na eterna e apaixonante Polinésia Francesa, perto na Nova Zelândia e da Austrália.
Bora Bora é tudo o que se quer: areia branca, água cristalina, bungalows de palha à beira do mar, o sítio perfeito para um quadro de "amor e uma cabana". É uma ilha com cerca de 8 mil habitantes e tem pelo menos 7 resorts de luxo! Para além de poderem apanhar um belo de um bronze, ainda podem contar com várias actividades náuticas como expedições de mergulho para alimentação de tubarões e raias.
Bora Bora é o paraíso na terra para mim. Não sei quanto a vocês, mas eu aceitava uma viagem só de ida!

After a few days of hibernation (because of University finals), we're back with another dream destination! This friday we have Bora Bora! Who doesn't know it? It belongs to the eternal and captivating French Polynesia, near New Zealand and Australia.
Bora Bora is everything you're looking for: white sand, crystal water, bungalows over water, the perfect place to bring to life the expression "love and a hut". It is an island with more than 8 thousand people and it has at least 7 five start resorts! Besides getting an amazing tan, you can also count with many activites in the water like scuba diving and feeding sharks and rays.
Bora Bora is a paradise to me. I don't know about you but I would accept going just with a one way flight!

MACHU PICCHU

Parece de propósito, mas não é mesmo! 

Depois da Europa, da Ásia e da África vamos até à América do Sul. Apesar do Brasil ser talvez o país mais requisitado quando se fala em viagens à América do Sul, esta semana vamos até ao Peru. Foi no dia 07, do mês 07, do ano 2007, que eu descobri esta maravilha do mundo moderno, uma das 7 anunciadas no nosso grandioso (desculpem a provocação) Estádio da Luz, e foi diretamente para a minha lista de afazeres na vida. Sim, estamos a falar da “velha montanha”, da “cidade perdida dos Incas” - Machu Picchu, a cidade pré-colombiana bem conservada, localizada no topo de uma montanha, a 2400 metros de altitude. Podia ter sido outra qualquer, mas foi esta que me captou a alma quando tinha 12 anos, sentada na cozinha a ver uma das cerimónias mais bonitas que se fizeram em Portugal, com a Jennifer Lopez a cantar e tudo.

Dicas para quem quer visitar:

- Comprar o bilhete mesmo antes de viajar. Existe um limite diário de visitantes, por isso o melhor é garantires a visita se isso for o propósito da viagem.

- Ir entre Junho e Julho. Machu Picchu localiza-se numa zona onde existem muitas chuvas no verão, por isso os meses entre Novembro e Março não são aconselháveis.

- Escolha a visita a Machu Picchu + Huayna Picchu. Existem três tipos de visitas: Machu Picchu, Machu Picchu + Huayna Picchu, e Machu Picchu + Museu, mas é da montanha Huayna Picchu que se tem a melhor vista da cidade. Porém é uma subida muito íngreme e só existem 2 excursões por dia, por isso é difícil de arranjar bilhete, mais uma vez, comprem com antecedência.

It seems on purpose, but it's really not! 

After Europe, Asia and Africa, we go to South America. I know when it comes to travel, Brazil is the most famous country in South America, but this week we go to Peru. It was on the 7th day, of the 7th month, of the year 2007, when I found this modern world wonder, one of the seven wonders announced on our glorious (sorry the provocation) Estádio da Luz, and it went straight to my bucket list. Yes, we are talking about the “old mountain”, the “lost city of Incas” – Machu Picchu, the well preserved pre-columbian city, located on the top of a mountain with 7874ft high. It could be any other, but this was the one who caught my eye when I was 12 years old, sat in my kitchen, seeing one of the most beautiful ceremonies ever made in Portugal, with Jennifer Lopez singing.

Tips for who wants to go to Machu Picchu:

- Buy the ticket before you travel. There is a daily limit of visitors, that's why you need to make sure you have your ticket before you travel.

- Go between June and July. Machu Picchu is located in an area where it rains a lot in the summer, so the months between November and March are not good.

- Choose the Machu Picchu + Huayna Picchu tour. There are three types of tours: Machu Picchu, Machu Picchu + Huayna Picchu, and Machu Picchu + Museum, but is in the Huayna Picchu mountain that you have the best view of the city. However it is a very steep climb and there are only 2 daily tours, that's why it's hard to get a ticket. Once again, buy it earlier.

ÁFRICA DO SUL | South Africa

Voltamos com mais um destino de sonho! Até agora já estivemos na Europa e na Ásia. Desta vez voamos até África, mais precisamente até África do Sul, o nosso destino de sonho desta semana!
Com mais de 54 milhões de habitantes, é um país completamente virado para o oceano e tem paisagens absolutamente maravilhosas, desde praias a montanhas (têm das mais antigas do mundo!). Se são apaixonados pela natureza e pelos animais, este é o sítio perfeito para vocês, até porque a África do Sul tem algo digno de ser partilhado: uma colónia de pinguins que vive numa praia só deles, na Cidade do Cabo!
Existem obviamente experiências absolutamente imperdíveis neste país: as rotas de vinho - a maior do mundo -, as visitas românticas à Cidade do Cabo, a província de KwaZulu-Natal, que tem praias, montanhas, natureza e tudo o que possam imaginar. É o país perfeito para a aventura: desde safaris, nadar com tubarões e fazer kayak com crocodilos, só têm mesmo de escolher e rezar para que corra tudo bem!
Eu cá não me importava nada de lá passar uns dias, no país onde o sol está sempre (ou quase sempre) presente. Quem gostava de ir também?

We are back with another dream destination! Until now we have been in Europe and Asia. This time we fly to Africa, more precisely to South Africa, our dream destination this week!
With more than 54 million people, this is a country completely turned to the ocean and it has absolutely amazing landscapes, from beaches to mountains (it has the oldest mountains in the world!). If you love nature and animals this is the perfect country for you to visit, also because South Africa has something that should definitely be shared: a penguin colony living in a beach just for themselves, in Cape Town!
There are obviously some experiences that can't be missed: the famous wine route - the biggest in the world -, the romantic visits to Cape Town, the KwaZulu Natal province, which has beaches, mountains, nature and everything you can imagine. It's the perfect country for adventure: from safaris, swimming with sharks and kayak with crocodiles, you just have to choose and pray everything will be okay!
I wouldn't mind to go there for a few days, to the country where the sun is always (or almost always) present. Who else would like to go too?

Depois de a Sofia ter revelado um dos seus destinos de sonho chegou a minha vez. Esta semana viajamos até à *rufar de tambores* Grécia! 

Apesar de ultimamente ouvirmos falar deste país apenas por maus motivos, a realidade é que há muito de bom para se falar. 

Berço da civilização, pai e mãe da democracia, da filosofia ocidental e dos Jogos Olímpicos, chegou até mim através duma novela brasileira e nunca mais me largou. Foi algures em 2005 que a telenovela Belíssima estreou em Portugal, e embora não me lembre minimamente da história (sim porque tinha *1+4+300-5x46-3…* 10 anos?!) recordo perfeitamente aquelas imagens das casinhas brancas, todas em cima umas das outras, com vista para o mar, onde até hoje sonho viver. 

Com cerca de 11 milhões de habitantes, situa-se no sul da Europa, perto do continente asiático, do continente africano e do médio oriente e está repleta de inúmeros pontos turísticos que nos transportam para os primórdios da civilização. Isto tudo para não falar nas suas magnificas ilhas rodeadas pelas águas azuis e cristalinas do Mar Mediterrâneo.

Este é o meu destino de sonho há 10 anos e embora esteja aqui pertinho nunca calhou lá ir, mas espero que esteja para breve. Fiquem com as imagens e já sabem, se já visitaram, vivem lá, ou partilham o mesmo sonho, enviem-nos as vossas histórias!

After Sofia revealed her first dream destination, now it is my turn. This week we go to... *drum roll* Greece!
Even though lately we have only heard bad things about this country, the truth is there are many good things to talk about. Cradle of civilization, father and mother of democracy, occidental philosophy and Olympic Games, Greece caught my eye through a brazilian novel and it never disappeared from my memory.
It was in 2005 when the novel was on the Portuguese television, and although I don't remember anything about the story (yes because I was *1+4+300-5x46-3…* 10 years old?!) I never forgot the shots of the little white houses, all on top of each others, with a sea sight, where, even today, I have the dream to live in.
With about 11 million habitants, Greece is located in South Europe, near Asia and Africa and also the Middle East, and it is filled with touristic places that remind us of the beginning of civilization. All of this without mentioning the beautiful islands surrounded by the blue and crystal water of the famous Mediterranean Sea.
This is my dream destination for almost 10 years, and despite being close to Portugal, I never went there, but I hope to go soon. I leave you with the stunning pictures of Greece and, you already know, if you went there, live there or share the same dream with me, send us your story!

TAILÂNDIA | THAILAND

*Suspiro* Tailândia... É um verdadeiro paraíso. Com mais de 66 milhões de habitantes, este país a única coisa que me faz é suspirar. Nunca me perdi de amores pelo continente asiático mas, ultimamente, cada vez que vou ao Google e escrevo qualquer coisa relacionada, só consigo pensar que quero muito, muito ir!
A Tailândia fica no sudeste asiático, ali entre o Cambodja, o Vietname e a Malásia e tem praias ma-ra-vi-lho-sas, capazes de fazer qualquer um chorar por mais. Tem uma cultura completamente diferente da europeia e faz com que seja ainda mais interessante de visitar. Pelo menos para mim! Só me imagino deitada numa toalha na areia branca, ir à água cristalina molhar o pé ou comer uma boa massa tailandesa e a ver o pôr do sol. Era capaz de passar um mesinho só nisso. Por enquanto, ficam as fotografias*...

*Sigh* Thailand... It is such a paradise. With more than 66 million people, this country only makes me wonder and crave it. I have never been in love with the asian continent before, but lately, everytime I go on Google and type something related to it, I can only think I really, really wanna go!
Thailand is located in Southeast Asia, between Cambodia, Vietnam and Malasya and has a-m-a-z-i-n-g beaches, capable of making anyone cry for more. It has a completely different culture from the european one and that just makes it even more interesting to visit. At least for me! I can only imagine myself laying in the white sand, my feet in the blue water, eating amazing thai food and watching the sunset. I could spend at least a month doing it. For now, we have only the pictures*...
